The A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk features a brand new in-house movement L043.1 caliber with a manual wind and a constant force escapement complication. A constant force escapement is situated with the balance wheel to ensure that the same amount of force is released all the time to produce excellent rate results. The oscillation system has a shock-resistant glucydur balance with eccentric poising weights; superior-quality balance spring manufactured in-house with patent-pending attachment system (balance spring clamp), frequency 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour, precision beat adjustment system with lateral setscrew and whiplash spring.

The Zeitwerk has a large case which is just under 42 mm wide case but remains only 12.6 mm thick. It is available in four different metals - 18 carat white, yellow, and rose gold as well as platinum. The reason I most admire this watch is the unique dial layout and functionality. Imitating a digital watch with its display of the instantly changing jumping hours and minutes. But keeping the watch from a completely modern style is the small seconds dial at 6 o'clock and the power reserve indicator at the top of the dial. The hands are constructed from rhodiumed gold. The watch is completed by the hand-stitched crocodile strap with a Lange prong buckle in solid gold or platinum.

An exciting development for A. Lange & Sohne will be displayed for the first time at the upcoming SIHH 2010 industry exhibition, the Lange 1 Daymatic. As the first self-winding movement to appear in the line, it will surely be drawing some attention to itself at the event. The Daymatic has the easily recognizable Lange 1 look with one very big exception - the classic Lange 1 displays have been reversed. The manual Lange 1 watches have the off-centered time display on the left side of the dial and the date on the right hemisphere respectively, the Lange 1 Daymatic switches things in reverse. The delivery of this watch is estimated to be sometime in mid 2010.

Basel 2008 is the first chance the public had to view some exciting new releases from Bell & Ross. The new Phantom Tourbillon is a stunning watch that is the all black version of the BR 01 Tourbillon that was released by Bell & Ross in early 2007. The Phantom features an all black case and dial, with the most noticable feature being the silver tourbillon that sits above the 6 o'clock position.

The Phantom is a very limited production, with only 18 watches to be produced, far fewer than the 60 pieces made of the original BR 01 Tourbillon. The large 46mm case is made from a virtually scratch-proof DLC treated titanium. The dial is made from carbon fiber and the hands and indexes have been treated with a photo luminescent coating for easy readablility. In addition to the tournillon, the Phantom's complications include a regulator, a precision indicator and a power reserve indicator. It has a mechanical manual winding movement and is water proof to 100 meters.

Bell & Ross and Infiniti, the luxury car brand, is launching an exclusive watch to celebrate their collaboration. The Limited Edition BR03-92 Instrument Phantom Infiniti watch is to be produced in a limited edition of just 100 individually-numbered pieces. In the 18 years since its debut as a company, Bell & Ross has truly made a name for itself in the world of luxury watches. Their biggest success thus far has been with their Instrument watches launched in 2005. Now Bell and Ross will introduce a new version of two of their most popular watches, the BR-01 and BR-03. These models will now be available with a smaller, 39 millimeter case size. While the other model are quite large this unisex size will allow Bell and Ross to tap into a new market of watch connoisseurs that may have previously stayed away from the brand, and may even attract some of the female demographic.

The new BR-01 and BR-03 watches feature a 39 millimeter matt black ceramic case in its well known square case shape. Notable is the use of a matte finish instead of a glossy polish of the previously developed models. Each case is fitted with four black steel screws. The dial also features white photo-luminescent markers and hands for great visibility under poor light conditions, displaying the functions of hours, minutes and small seconds. The watches are completed with a rubber strap. The watch is powered by the ETA.980.163 precision quartz movement.

Carbon fiber has become an inspirational material for many luxury watch manufacturers. Where once limited edition pieces were limited to platinum and other fine metals, now more and more limited edition pieces are being crafted from this sturdy and beautiful material. Bell & Ross has taking it and created its two new limited edition sports models for its BR 01 collection. The first of these timepieces, the BR 01-94, features a three-counter automatic chronograph with date, while the BR 01-92 model is a simpler example with time display and sweep center seconds. Both of these Carbon Fiber watches are to be limited to 500 pieces.

Construction of these timepieces was accomplished by barrowing techniques used in the aeronautical industry. Each case measures an impressive 46 mm and produced entirely from carbon fiber. The bezel and dials are both carbon fiber as well, creating an interesting look of one continuous piece. Each strap has been crafted from woven carbon and treated with a semi-gloss finish and completed with a blackened tang buckle.

2007 was the first year Hublot developed a Big Bang watch specially for the Mexican Football Federation. After the great success of the first model, Hublot has created a new edition of the limited edition timepiece thus continuing its partnership with the Mexican Football Federation. On December 7th, at a celebrity tennis match at Sutton East Tennis Club in New York City, Hublot unveiled its new Bode Bang watch. The celebrity tennis match was to support Bode’s relationship with the Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program was called Hublot's “Tennis Fusion” Celebrity Challenge. Bode Miller along with 2-time tennis Grand Slam winner Justin Gimelstob, actor Sebastian Stan of TV’s Gossip Girl and Olympian Tim Morehouse played a doubles tennis match, with Hublot Managing Director Ricardo Guadalupe as umpire.

This new timepiece is a collaborative effort between the brand and Bode Miller an

American skier. The world champion skier was delighted at the opportunity to have a Big Bang watch that bears his name and to divert some of the watch's royalties to the Turtle Ridge Foundation, which was founded by Bode Miller and his family in 2005. The watch is to be a limited and numbered edition of 250 pieces.

Hublot has officially announced its new movement, which is the first in-house movement for the manufacture, at the opening of Hublot’s new manufacture in Switzerland. The UNICO name will actually be used to represent Hublot’s new family of Calibers. To start Hublot will be releasing just two calibers for 2010, the first Caliber HUB1240 and the second will be the Unico 1110. Caliber HUB1240 is right now still just a functional prototype but it will be ready for use in 2010. The UNICO movement was designated to be part of Hublot’s new “King Power” models.

The Caliber HUB1240 is a chronograph movement, composed from 330 parts. The 36-jewel-movement has a total diameter of 30.40 mm, and is 8.05 mm high. Its functions include traditional hours and minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, the date, a 60-second and 60-minute chronograph and offers about 70 hours of power-reserve. The escapement is made from silicon, chosen for its light weight and durable nature. Hublot plans to produce 2,000 UNICO movements in 2010, and approximately 20,000 movements in the medium term.

After years of Hublot's partnerships with Wally, the Monaco-headquartered yacht manufacturer, and acting as the Wally Class official timekeeper during their regattas, Hublot has created a new Big Bang watch inspired by the Wally Yachts. This chronograph watch is built from high-tech materials and designed to complement the colors and look of the Wally yachts. The creation of the Wally timepiece is a tribute to the partnership between these two great companies and the values they share. The new Wally watch was selected in the “Sports watch” category of the prestigious Grand Prix de l’ Horlogerie de Genève awards 2009.

The New Hublot Gold King Power Watch features a self-winding mechanical movement with a split-seconds foudroyante chronograph. The Hublot HUB 4144 caliber was developed with La Joux-Perret. The polished bridges have a satin-finish with chamfered edges, while the screws are produced form black PVD. The oscillating weight is Tungsten carbide with dimpled surface coated with black PVD. This is not the first time Hublot has created such and expensive timepiece. The first, the One Million Dollar Big Bang, was introduced in 2007 and received the 'Prix du Design' award in the category Jewelry watch. This time, instead of 493 Top Wesselton baguette diamonds, the Caviar features over five hundred extremely rare black diamonds, which have an impressive total weight of 34.5 carats. The Hublot Black Caviar Bang Million Dollar Watch took more than 2000 hours to create and is intended to be a unique creation with only one ever to be produced.

The watch, the Hublot Project F Bang Big Bang Chronograph, will also benefit the Make A Wish Foundation who's aim is to help children suffering from life-threatening illnesses to realize their dreams. The charity donation is a joint effort between Hublot and the exclusive distributor of Hublot watches in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia - The Hour Glass. The Hour Glass has pledged 5% of the retail price for every F-Bang Hublot sold in its Singapore and Malaysia locations.

Hublot has expanded its collection yet again this year by branching out its Big Bang collection to include some very colorful additions. Keeping the same design elements that make the Big Bang so recognizable, Hublot has added a bit of flash to its original design. 2010 has brought another titanium and stainless steel masterpiece for the well-known luxury brand Vacheron Constantine, the Overseas Dual Time watch. The Overseas collection has been a popular one for the brand since the launch of the first version in 1996. A beautiful watch with great functionality for travelers and collectors alike, the model offers two time zones, a day/night indicator, a power reserve complication, and a date display. Pricing for this watch is expected to be about $15,000-$17,000 (USD) when it becomes available later this year.

This summer Vacheron Constant has launched two new models for its Overseas collection, the Overseas Automatic and the Overseas Automatic Chronograph. These two feature a monochramtic grey theme with finely brushed stainless steel cases and anthracite titanium bezels. The models are re-interpretations of previous Vacheron watches produced way back in 1933 and 1977. Both of these watches feature a large 42 mm stainless steel cases and the titanium bezel shaped as a continuation of the Maltese Cross symbol that is the hallmark of the brand. Both have slate colored dials with baton shaped hands and silver wedge-shaped hour markers treated with a luminous coating for superior legibility even in low-light conditions.
